Colleges & Programs

Mission of the College of Medicine:

To provide an institute at the forefront of medical science education in patient care, health promotion, community services and research according to international standards, by providing undergraduate courses of international merit in the medical and allied health sciences through basic and applied health care education.

The Medicine Program issues a Bachelor Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) to highly skilled graduates upon successful completion of a prestigious international and national based curriculum thus attaining global standards while preserving Islamic identity and traditions.

The Medicine Program was established in 2005 and started in 2006 in response to the BMC vision of providing the region with well-trained qualified healthcare professionals to serve the increasing demand for quality healthcare graduates.

After successfully passing the Foundation Year, students are admitted to the Medicine Program according to their grades. The Foundation Year is followed by five years of theoretical courses with practical and clinical training. Community service is also incorporated throughout the program as a vital part of the curriculum. One year of Internship completes the program.

The Medicine Program utilizes modern, well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories in its practical instruction showcasing cadavers, plastacine models, and virtual training manikins.

The newly opened OSPE (Objective Structured Practical Exam) & OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Exam) Center with computer technology offers state-of-the-art training & examinations.

Medicine exams are conducted on-line in the newly developed Computer Testing Center.
