Batterjee Medical College for Sciences & Technology as a continuation of its mission of advancement and promotion of empowering platforms, hosted Microsoft's Annual Conference on February 15, 2012 in its Sheikh Abdul Jaleel Auditorium. Nearly 1200 student participants from all over Jeddah attended this mega event which was dubbed as "Microsoft Mega Meeting". This conference was a gathering of like-minded & passionate young minds that all have one interest in common, TECHNOLOGY!
This initiative was jointly supported by Microsoft Saudi Technology Clubs, a technical community for students to share knowledge, participate in tech-events and enhance their skills. This community is run by Microsoft Student Partners in Saudi Arabia and it is open for everyone to join.
The event got started with the College’s representative talking about the evolution of College from “Batterjee Medical College” to” Batterjee Medical College for Sciences & Technology” in the last 5 years or so. The Technology part of the College is not just a mere label. Infact its an integral part of College’s philosophy for a conducive academic environment. Currently the Technology is being used as a learning, assessment, information & lab solution in form of Dental Simulation Lab, 3D cyber Anatomy Lab, Online testing, Learning Management System & e-library.
Later technical sessions were delivered on Windows Azure, Windows Phone, Micrsoft Opportunities in academic proficiency for university graduates & Web Technology by Official spokespersons of Microsoft as well as student representatives of Microsoft from Effat Univeristy & King Abdul Aziz University. This was followed by the Question/Answer sessions & finally the conference signed off with special surprise prizes for participants through a lucky draw & a souvenir for College’s Dean, Dr. Khalid Batterjee for supporting this mega-event.
