The college's student club SOMOO in collaboration with Student Affairs Department hosted Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Monajed in a lecture titled "Concerns of a university Student" on October 10, 2011. This lecture attracted around 500 plus attendees. Sheikh Abdul Rahman talked first about the importance of seeking knowledge. He also cited the words of Prophet Mohammad Peace be upon Him "Who walked in a path requesting a useful knowledge, God will guide him the path to Paradise and angels lay their wings for the knowledge seekers" In the end, he talked about the difficulties that the university students may face, and how to overcome them through faith that knowledge seeking is a kind of Al jihad that can be achieved by patience, diligence and perseverance.
