Program Description
The program requires four years of full-time study, plus one year of internship. Each year of study comprises two semesters. The duration of each semester averages 15 teaching weeks.
The program includes a balance of basic sciences, behavioural sciences, clinical/physical therapy sciences, clinical practice, and critical/scientific inquiry.
Program Structure
- In the first year,
- students will receive comprehensive courses in many topics in human biology, physics, mathematics, English and other topics. These topics prepare students to the specialized study of physical therapy. It also provides a structured background for most of the topics taught in the successive years.
- In the second year of the program,
- students will start to study basic information related to physical therapy such as therapeutic exercises, electro physical agents with emphasis on physical therapy examination procedures. At this year students also will be introduced to biomechanical bases of human movement.
- In the third year,
- students will start to study topics related to application of physical therapy in the field of practice as musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary and sport injuries. In this year students also will have part-time clinical practice to build up their clinical sense & to provide a real life situation for practicing what they learnt in college.
- In the fourth year,
- students will continue their study of topics related to the application of physical therapy in the field of practice as neurology, paediatric geriatric & other topics. In this year student also will have part-time clinical practice to build up their clinical sense & to provide a real life situation for practicing what they learnt in college.
- The fifth year,
- is Internship training in a qualified hospital Physical Therapy Department.
